Capacity, by design.

When ADHD and midlife collide, everything can feel different.

I help women make sense of the changes that can come when ADHD, perimenopause, and years of masking collide — so they can move from overwhelm and self-doubt toward clarity, self-trust, and sustainable ways of living.

You’re Not Broken

Many high-achieving women with ADHD spent years believing their struggles were simply personal flaws. They were capable, dependable, and often excelled at work, school, caregiving, or leadership, so there was little reason to question what was happening beneath the surface.

Then perimenopause shifted everything. The strategies that once kept life manageable stopped working in the same way, and what had been quietly held together through effort, masking, and overcompensating began to feel harder to sustain.

What I help with

I support women who are trying to understand why life feels harder than it used to, even though they have spent years being the one others rely on. My work is designed for women who want compassionate, practical support that honours both their neurodivergence and the realities of midlife.

This may be helpful if you are:

  • Quietly wondering whether ADHD has always been part of your story.

  • Noticing that perimenopause or menopause has made focus, emotional regulation, memory, or energy harder to manage.

  • Exhausted from masking, over-functioning, perfectionism, and people-pleasing.

  • Ready to understand yourself more clearly and build support that actually fits.

How I work

My approach is neurodiversity-affirming and menopause-informed. I help women understand the patterns beneath the overwhelm, make sense of what is changing, and build support that reflects who they are and what they need now.

This work is not about fixing you. It is about helping you work with your brain, honour your capacity, and create more sustainable ways of living.

Meet Ammara

I’m Ammara Wood — ADHD Coach, Neurodiversity Consultant, and Menopause Educator, and founder of Blissfully ND Wellness. I support late-identified neurodivergent women in midlife who are trying to make sense of ADHD, hormonal change, and years of masking, over-functioning, and self-doubt — and I also bring this work into broader conversations about neurodivergent inclusion and wellbeing.

I’m also a late-identified AuDHD Black woman, and I know firsthand what it is like to spend decades wondering why life felt harder than it seemed to for everyone else. My work is grounded in lived experience, professional training, and an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach that helps women move beyond survival and into greater clarity, confidence, and self-trust.
